Order of operations (the simplest path)
| # | Step | Blocked on | Cost | Time |

| 2 | Articles of Organization PDF arrives by email | Step 1 | — | day-of approval |
| 3 | File EIN at IRS | Thu 4 PM cron (your SSN) | $0 | ~15 min |
| 4 | Download CP-575 EIN confirmation PDF | Step 3 (one-time view) | — | immediate |
| 5 | I draft single-member Operating Agreement | nothing — ready now | $0 | I take ~10 min |
| 6 | Open Relay business checking | Steps 2 + 4 + 5 | $0/mo | ~20 min online |
| 7 | Move first dollar into Relay → it's live | Step 6 | any amount | same-day ACH |
The bank — Relay only, skip Bluevine for now
Per your direction "simple bank, no $5K transfer, just one, it's free", the setup is just Relay Financial. Yesterday's Bluevine-yield-sweep plan is shelved until volume justifies it (probably year 2). Relay alone covers everything you need for Phase 0.
RELAY FINANCIAL — primary business checking
Why Relay: $0/mo, 20 real sub-accounts each with its own routing number (Profit-First shaped), native QuickBooks/Xero, online-only application (~20 min). Underwriting materially less twitchy than Mercury / Bluevine — those two have documented account-freeze patterns; Relay is the safe anchor.
What you'll need at the Relay application:
- Articles of Organization PDF (from Step 2)
- EIN confirmation letter CP-575 (from Step 4)
- Single-member Operating Agreement (from Step 5 — I'll draft)
- Your driver's license
- SSN
- Business address: 205 Park Ridge Circle, Marietta GA 30068-4634 (same as registered agent)
- Business purpose / NAICS: "agricultural composting and memorial products" (same as EIN filing)
Sub-accounts to open at Relay (Profit-First default):
- Operating (main inflow account)
- Taxes (30% of every deposit)
- Profit (5% of every deposit)
- Owner Pay (the rest, monthly draw)
Why not just one account? Relay's 4-sub-account split takes the same ~20 min to set up as 1 account, and prevents the Year-1 trap of having tax money in your spending account. You can ignore the sub-accounts if you want simpler — but they're free, so might as well.
What I'm doing in parallel (no action needed from you)
- Drafting your single-member Operating Agreement (template + your specifics). Will land in
reports.thebarnetts.info/private/r/ when ready for your signature.
- Monitoring the EIN cron for tomorrow 4 PM ET.
- Once Articles PDF lands in your inbox, I'll auto-drop it in Google Drive folder
Breezy Farms LLC / Formation.
What's NOT happening (per your call)
- ❌ Bluevine yield sweep account — deferred
- ❌ Found tax-platform account — deferred to Year 2
- ❌ $5K minimum-balance setup — deferred
- ❌ Multi-account fintech complexity — keep it Relay-only for Phase 0
